Hi
Great! works perfectly here.
One thing (disturbing a Mac user) is the Quit with Close window (red button);
on Mac closing the window let the app. running/waiting and Quit must be in the menu bar too.

Some graphical glitches when resizing the window (Snow Leopard on MacBook)
Ill test more to find if bug when modeling (none yet)...

(:^D

Edit: and delete key is <- on Mac (no Suppr key on keybord) so need to use red X button
or fn+delete

Hi ycarry, thanks for testing it!

Yes, I'm sure there will be several things that should be tweaked to be more mac-like. I may have some difficulty with some of them due to the way this is set up, but I will probably be able to address many of them.

But of primary concern right now is if it just functions ok or if it has any bad reliability problems. That's great to hear that it's running on Snow Leopard, I wasn't even sure if that part would work yet or not.

Please let me know how things go if you get a chance to use it for some longer modeling sessions.

- Michael

Hi Michael,

Here is my short test with:
Mac OS X V 10.6.8

20" iMac ( 1680 x 1050 )
2 GHz Intel Core Duo
2 GB RAM ( I cannot upgrade, 2 GB was the limit with the first iMac`s)
ATI Radeon X1600 128 MB
(This iMac was bought Jun. 2006, one of the first iMac`s, a grandpa :-)

Download & Installation = without problems
Licensing = without problems

First impression = Great!

This is a dream come true!!!
Testing right now, iMac i7 2.93 Ghz, 4G RAM - OSX 10.6.8

Just change the shortcut for Delete from "Delete" to "Backspace" and the first issue is solved.
Trying out the different commands, so far so good.
Thank you Michael, now I can throw away my old notebook, since MoI was the only program left that still needed Windows!

WOW that was fast! Thanks a lot for MoI.app

I use OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and my first impression after playing a few minutes with the prototype is very positive.
C: is the windows disk and Z: is my Mac disk which I can browse fine with the windows file interface.

I seem to miss a certain font though as you can see in the screen shots. The font for the keyboard shortcuts and the font for the lables "3D" "Top" "Front" "Right" is missing.

That's just a quick, first impression.
Thanks again.

Great news!!

would love to beta test this but, you know, not too many mac users out there would actually have a v2 license.
:)

i'll be following the progress closely.

Hi Michael, this is wonderful news! Especially ycarry's tests with Snow Leopard on MacBook, which is the combination I have, sound very promising. As Jeff mentions, do I have to purchase a v2 license first in order to make a test? You not happen to have a trial of this.. I guess not.. well if the GFX is the same I am ready to jump!

Hello ycarry, may I ask you the favor to verify that your MacBook has the same graphics as mine? You can find the info in the System Profiler > Graphics/Display. That would be super kind!

Thanks a lot both of you!
Chyman

@chyman.. i'm curious to see how(if) it would run on a 13" mbp or air..
those integrated graphics give all sorts of problems with sketchup and rhino osx..

fwiw, if i were beta_ing, it'd be on a MacPro 1,1 2.66xeon w/ 8800gt and a MacBookPro 6,2 15" 2.66 i7 w/ 330M
both running 10.7.2
i'm also testing rhino osx (for the past 2 years) and am a sketchup veteran :)

I'm not even a MAC user and I have to say WOW Michael!

I'm happy for you cause I know a lot of folks were asking for MoI to be native on the MAC platform - looks like you'll have a whole new set of users now - congrats!

yeah, the blackbooks had intel integrated graphics only..
i figured that's what would happen on them.. not sure if the newer 13" mbp and airs will fair any better but i doubt it.

<not sure if the newer 13">

You are affraid of the size of the screen?
Moi has a tricky system of reduction of UI !

So like a phone screen :) here size 1/1

no, not scared of the screen size exactly..
it's just that the small screened macs don't have good graphics cards in them.. if you want to use a laptop for moiosx, you'll more likely than not need a 15" or 17" MacBookPro to run it properly. (as is the case with other 3D apps i use)
