Splitting curves/surfaces

I know this might sound really dense but I cannot figure out how to split a curve or a surface. I remember in Rhino there was a trim button and a split button, MoI only has a trim button. How does one split items?

Thanks.

Hi bigseb - MoI's one Trim command combines the jobs of both of Rhino's Trim and Split commands.

If you want to do what Rhino calls "split", use MoI's trim command and in the final stage of the command where you pick which pieces you want to discard, just push "Done" or right-click in a viewport without selecting anything. That will then cut the object up and leave all the pieces behind like Rhino's Split command.
