Hi,

i attached a .zip file with the files. Just unzip it into your MoI folder.

Some things are hardcoded like the selections. And some icons are also not changeable (history, paste, copy, delete, etc.).

Very cool!

I probably won't have time to do this for V1, but later I could probably come up with some method to have multiple skins installed and let you switch between them.

Oh yeah, these are the ones that I licensed from an icon pack. Part of the license agreement for these is that they have to be embedded into the .exe file as resources, so that's why they are not hanging around the UI folder with the rest of the icons.

If you want, you can edit the .htm file to make the button point to your own custom bitmap for these.

Just as a side note anyone who uses this UI might want to make a back up of their "command" and "UI" folders. That way they can switch back to the original UI if they want to.

@michael
Great idea with the theme switcher.

This flat theme was only a test and for the next skin i will create new icons.

It is not more easy to change just in the moi.css in the ui folder :)
And you can also change the bakground color Windows in the Window "Option" :)

"background-color:#D2DFE1" ; in something like "background-color:#AAAAAA;"
in the following line :)
.CommandBarBody
{
margin:0px;
background-color:#D2DFE1;
white-space:nowrap;
}
.SidePaneBody
{
background-color:#D2DFE1;
}

But just the grey background is suffisent for decrease the "light" of the white color background
Rest of white windows icone is not aggressive for the eyes :)

I think MoI's default layout is in good looks except the toolbar at the bottom of the screen which seems slightly jagged to me... -Petr

Hi Petr, can you explain a bit more what you mean by jagged?

Is there something not lined up as you would expect?

Hi Michael,

Jagged or ragged? Awkward words.. hehe....

I just mean that the toolbar at the bottom of the screen contains groups of graphic symbols (icons, tabs, coordinate and snap controls) varying in visual aspect substantially. However, these groups are located close together as if they was related to each other and therefore toolbar seems not to make a "harmonic" whole. Maybe, it needs dividing into clearly bounding groups using some kind of border(?) and/or harmonizing a different dimensions of graphic symbols as well.

Anyway, MoI's UI can be modified pretty easily by skilful users, so don't bother your head with it...

I see what you mean. But these things are located close to each other to try to efficiently use space so it will fit on a 1024x768 screen.

This is one of the hardest parts of UI design - trying to make something that works well on a lower resolution screen but still take advantage of a higher resolution screen as well. In MoI one factor that helps with this is the UI scale factor size - on higher resolution screens the default scale factor is a bit more.

But here you're seeing some of the side-effects of making MoI work well on the lower resolution.

Maybe in the future I will be able to tune things up to expand and "relax" a little bit more when there is more space available. This is pretty difficult though.
