Commands with history updating on by default are:
Blend
Boolean intersection between curves that produces a solid.
Project
Extrude
Loft
Network
Planar
Revolve
Rail revolve
Sweep
So actually what I wrote previously about Planar not having it on by default is incorrect - it is on by default for Construct > Planar so if you edit the curves that were used as inputs into Construct > Planar the surface will update, but not if you have done something like deleted some of the curves or edited the surface directly like moving it somewhere.
Editing an output object is another way to break the history chain.
