mystery files

Hi ...
I have some dwg files of cars and such. They open fine as dwg files in various AutoCad clones.
I can open these files with Rhino (I am using Rhino 5) and then save them as 3dm files (either ver 4 or 5 - Rhino).
When I open these files with MoI there is nothing there ... the names of all the styles come through but no image ... nothing that I can find.
This is a mystery to me ... it has been my experience that Rhino 3dm files can be opened with MoI.
Any ideas?
thanks
eric

Hi eric - it's probably either that the file contains block instances or mesh objects.

To see which it is, select one of the objects in Rhino and then run the "What" command to see what kind of object it is.

If it's a block instance then use the Explode command in Rhino to break it down into regular geometry - MoI doesn't yet handle block instance objects from Rhino, they just get skipped.

Also if it's a polygon mesh type object in Rhino instead of a NURBS object those kinds of objects are also skipped when reading into MoI.

- Michael
