Madness Using Polygon

Okay, I'm pretty comfortable using MoI these past few months. But this one's got me baffled...

I'm trying to place a polygon by center and then key in the circumscribed radius. Any time I try to key in a distance (from the center point) the keyin goes to the number of sides field. Even trying to place construction lines and repositioning them, any keyins end up changing the number of sides.

What on Earth am I missing?!?

Hi Skwerm - when a command has a text input field in it, your keystrokes will go to that field when you just type some characters in without doing anything else.

But you can send your keystrokes to a particular control by clicking on it first before typing.

So for this case click on either the XYZ or distance input in the bottom toolbar before typing and then you'll then be able to enter in a distance constraint value there.

I guess maybe the polygon command should have a radius field in the command options themselves similar to the circle command, that would probably make numeric entry for it work a bit more smoothly.

But anyway, click on the distance field on the bottom toolbar and then you'll be able to enter in a distance constraint to get the job done now.

Thanks, Michael.

I did figure out clicking in the fields at the bottom. I guess I've just been so spoiled by just having to key values without having to tell MoI where they went that this threw me.

No biggie. Still loving MoI.
