Hi OSTexo,

It could be possible - one of the things that is updated is the OpenNURBS library for loading 3DM files.

Particularly if you're loading Rhino v4 or v5 files I think the new library may be able to find each section it is looking for in its proper place instead of trying to scan through the file to find them, or something like that.

Hi OSTexo,

Is it possible for you to send me the file through e-mail (moi@moi3d.com) so I could test with it?

Thanks,
- Michael

Hi OSTexo,

Check out here for a real basic one with an example file:

Thanks for the response, and it might be wise to use the idea of putting some visible indicator next to the name. I would have had NO idea to click so far to the right, and I've been using your program for years.

I can probably make something additional show up when you have your mouse over the line to make it more apparent that the right side is a clickable area.

Does the new UI enhancement mean you going to suport other OS then Microsoft Windows in the future?

Hi Robert,

Well, it's at least one step towards that.

It's potentially enough of a step to make it happen soon if things work well enough running under the WINE compatibility library.

If using WINE does not work out then there are still some remaining steps that would be necessary to have a full port done. If that's the case then those additional steps would probably happen sometime after v3.

At the moment it's still an unknown as far as how that will work out.

Script copier for this release is attached here.

This is a utility program that will copy any custom plug-in commands that you had installed in MoI v2 under the \commands sub-folder over into this new beta's \commands sub-folder.

For the most part scripts for MoI v1 and v2 should just run directly in MoI v3. There will probably be a couple of them that will need some minor tune-ups if their UI happened to use some functions that are specific to Internet Explorer.

Let me know if you run into any that need tuning up - I have not yet tested every single plug-in with v3 myself.

Just a quick question. Is this the intended scope of the new release, or can we expect to see quite a few more features introduced?

Hi hep - yeah it should work to use a V2 upgrade license for downloading the beta. Not sure what happened on your first attempt but I'm glad you've got it now.

This is just the beginning - the beta period will last for a while, maybe something like 8 more months or a year and there will be a lot more new stuff coming.

You can add your top 5 requested features to this thread here:

Hi Steve,

> Just copied the scripts. The Pipe command fails.

Looks like an actual error in the script that the old script engine happened to silently ignore for some reason.

Please try the attached updated version - this new version should work in either v2 or v3 now.

In addition to the UI for v3 being on a new system, the script processing also is using a new system as well and there may be a few kinks related to that, like in this case with a slight difference in error handling making a difference to how the script was executed. It should only require minor tweaks to fix up these kinds of issues as well.

Also one of the other updates to the script system is a much better display of script errors - it shows the actual line of script where the error is happening and some surrounding code as well. That makes it a lot easier for me or a script author to see exactly where the script is having a problem.
