Hi Yenmonger,

I thought that too, but move your cursor to the right of the style name and you will find a button that does that. See JPEG:

Not sure I like the changes to the selections process. In V2, if I click on an an objects name it selects that object or objects. In V3 it doesn't do anything. Similarly in V2 if I click the type curves, say, it selects all curves. In V3, it doesn't do anything. Same with styles. Is this a bug or is it deliberate?

EDIT: Just realised that you now have to click to one side of the text name in the blank area. Works OK but it would be nice if there was a visual indicator like an empty circle when nothing is selected. Just as a hint to click there.

Congrats, Michael!

Hi niko,

> You did mention in another thread that you would definitely
> incorporate continuity options for the network surface command.

Actually what I really want to have first is a separate "Match" command that will allow you to modify 2 surfaces to be smooth to one another, no matter which particular command was used to create them.

Then possibly at some point that could get built in to the Network command but that may not be necessary.

> Is this still the case and you're saving this feature for

I haven't abandoned it, I just have not had a chance to work on that yet.

Hi Danny,

> I had a little play and in regards to the selection filters,
> with mixed styles on a single solid if I filter one of the styles
> on the solid and select Faces in the Type selection the entire
> solid is selected, I was expecting the faces with the filtered
> style to select only.

Thanks for the report - looks like this happens if the style that you marked as filtered also happened to be the style that was assigned to the brep parent object, I'll take a look at fixing that.

Hi Michael T,

> Question, what is you projected cost for v3 when
> released? New vs existing users?

I'm not really sure yet, but probably an upgrade from v2 to v3 will be the same cost as it was from v1 to v2.

There is still a long ways to go before v3 is finished, I don't yet have any finalized plans for its release yet.

Hi Yenmonger,

> Bug report: selecting a style name no longer
> selects all objects of that style.

Instead of clicking on the name, there is a new selection indicator dot on the far right column to the right of the name:

That shows you the selection state of the item with a full yellow dot if all objects of that slot are selected, and a half dot if some are selected and some are not.

Click on that dot to toggle selection on or off similar to how clicking on the eye toggles visiblity on or off.

When you click on the dot it will only select objects that are not hidden - use shift+click to select all objects of that slot regardless of current visibility state (any hidden objects will become shown if you do that).

Right click on the dot to do an "isolated selection" - it will select the item and deselect all other things.

You can also use Ctrl+click on that same spot to activate a selection filter - when a filter is active only objects that belong to that slot will be targeted for selection actions, so for instance if you want to select all red curves, you can tag Style = Red with a filter, and then go to the Types section of the scene browser and click on the selection indicator for curves and it will only target curves that have style = red. You can push Escape to clear any active filters when you are done using them.

Hi Luis,

> Just wondering...what will be the pricing for upgrading
> from V1 to V3??

I'm not really sure if there will be an upgrade from v1 to v3 - there might only be one from v2 to v3...

> Can I try V3 Beta with a V1 license??

Sorry, not currently - right now I kind of assume that if you're interested in having the latest stuff that you would have already updated to v2 a while ago...

Hi OSTexo,

It could be possible - one of the things that is updated is the OpenNURBS library for loading 3DM files.

Particularly if you're loading Rhino v4 or v5 files I think the new library may be able to find each section it is looking for in its proper place instead of trying to scan through the file to find them, or something like that.

Hi OSTexo,

Is it possible for you to send me the file through e-mail (moi@moi3d.com) so I could test with it?

Thanks,
- Michael

Hi OSTexo,

Check out here for a real basic one with an example file:

(for curve-to-curve flow)

Thanks for the response, and it might be wise to use the idea of putting some visible indicator next to the name. I would have had NO idea to click so far to the right, and I've been using your program for years.

I can probably make something additional show up when you have your mouse over the line to make it more apparent that the right side is a clickable area.

Does the new UI enhancement mean you going to suport other OS then Microsoft Windows in the future?

Hi Robert,

> Does the new UI enhancement mean you going to
> suport other OS then Microsoft Windows in the future?

Well, it's at least one step towards that.

It's potentially enough of a step to make it happen soon if things work well enough running under the WINE compatibility library.

If using WINE does not work out then there are still some remaining steps that would be necessary to have a full port done. If that's the case then those additional steps would probably happen sometime after v3.

At the moment it's still an unknown as far as how that will work out.

Script copier for this release is attached here.

This is a utility program that will copy any custom plug-in commands that you had installed in MoI v2 under the \commands sub-folder over into this new beta's \commands sub-folder.

For the most part scripts for MoI v1 and v2 should just run directly in MoI v3. There will probably be a couple of them that will need some minor tune-ups if their UI happened to use some functions that are specific to Internet Explorer.

Let me know if you run into any that need tuning up - I have not yet tested every single plug-in with v3 myself.
