Hi Pilou - oh you mean the Sketch curve command.

Yeah that one is a bit different since it is all done with one kind of brush stroke.

That one always goes directly on the construction plane. If you want to sketch something at a particular angled 3D plane, the script mentioned here can be a quick way to set the construction plane to the current view direction:

But probably Pierre was asking more about how the machine functioned for 3D graphics display and not really asking about how to use particular commands in MoI?

Hi Pilou,

I understood it more like: will the machine function overall well enough for 3D graphics applications so that I could use MoI on it.

Hi Pilou, no I currently don't have any plans to use pressure sensitivity in MoI.

Remember - MoI is basically a type of CAD program and it has an overall general focus on accurate drawing mechanisms.

Pressure on the other hand is a fluctuating thing, it's something that is better suited to a program that's more focused on more organic sculpting type stuff rather than on accurate constructions.

Hi Michael & Pierre,

A friend of mine recently bought one of these Slate machines & we did a quick tested of MoI on it for the Jewellery Forum we're on.
Here's the video of us having a quick poke at it.

http://www.youtube.com/user/nauseumster#p/a/u/1/4-9XPbYQpug

I was using the Pen that's supplied with the Slate...note that it doesn't have any Buttons for Right click.
The machine seems quite capable of handling a MoI model, but I wouldn't consider it as a replacement for a Desktop or Laptop.

HTH, Colin

That's cool Colin!

BTW you hit the TAB key on the virtual keyboard to get the focus in the box to type a command :)

Cheers
~Danny~

Maybe it's possible to have a pen with button?
Do you can use a pen for another tablet like a wacom tablet?

Also for Colin, Using the rotate widget from the viewport, there is an option which can help the rotation and others, under view/rotate/pan/zoom... I think the sensativity slider will help with the speed of the rotation with regard to how far you have to move your pen.. Your mesh angle helps with the viewport being sluggish due to a large heavy model, though I think you were looking for more speed with less pen movement... MoI is cool!

Hi Everyone,

@Danny & Burr, Thanks for those pointers.

@Pilou, I've been told that you can use the other normal sized Wacom Pens with Buttons & this machine will recognise them.
The supplied Pen or Stylus fits into a small hole on the side of this machine, where as the normal sized Wacom Pens wouldn't.
If you're on the move & carrying this machine in a bag, then adding a normal size Wacom Pen into a pocket wouldn't be an issue.

HTH, Colin
