MOI Lite

I have been using MOI just for converting CAD formats, mainly IGS to LWO. I have no plans to use MOI as a modeler, I don't even consider myself to be a person who models but I need an application that can do these conversions, so I can take CAD files and render them in Modo. I was wonder if there is a stripped down version of MOI that could do this and would be less $'s than the full version? Is anyone else in this boat?
Thanks

W

Hi Wedgie, currently there isn't any stripped down version like that.

But that is something that I might try to do in the future - probably something around MoI version 4.0, at that point there could probably be enough stuff to separate out a full and "lite" type version.

But it does take additional work to try and maintain multiple versions like that - right now it is a big goal to try and keep things simple which is why there is only one version currently.

It's really not my place but do you know how much companies like Okino, Righthemisphere, npower etc.charge for their convertors/translators ?

Well they are much more expensive than MoI and their mesh quality is still questionable...Not to mention the additional subscription fees...

Wedgie reading your other thread I got the impression that Michael was also doing Luxology's job ;) So for $295 you get MoI and Michael comes for FREE, best bargain if you ask me.

Hi Wedgie, you could give this a shot http://www.babel3d.com/ don't know how good it is, but I suspect it would be for basic stuff, let us know.

Cheers
