I love these images.

Are they rendered Frenchy or are they screen caps from MoI?

It's just screen grab of the Moi Screen, then replicate an scale Size 50% on 4 levels in any 2D prog :)
Colors are Moi Colors but ajusting, reverse, etc in the 2D prog... depending of the feeling of the day :)
I have just 5 minutes free for make all the works! ;)

This method of using booleans is completely new for me; how cooool!
I'd love to know by what principle its possible to predict the final shape?

Frenchy, I think you must be a radio presenter in France? - even though I can only make out the words "inspiration" and "solid", its entertaining to listen to your voice and its constant-variable-intonation :)

Hi Ambimind,

> I'd love to know by what principle its possible to predict the final shape?

Well, for that kind of operation the shape is generated by the extrusions of each profile curve and then calculating the boolean intersection between those extrusions. Boolean intersection keeps only the area that is inside of each extruded volume.

So to get a better idea of how it works you can do the extrusion yourself with the Extrude command to see what kind of shapes are being used.

Some other examples of this method in this thread:

Hi Frenchy,
I just watched your latest video and noticed that you have the ExplodeMove command left in English.. I didnt know if you were aware that you can rename those commands as well, so you could give the scripts and custom commands french names too... So if you take the 2 ExplodeMove files and rename them seevuplei, then you can type that to launch the command... May help your french speaking followers to do this to remmember a command..

FYI

Thanks Michael, the intersection of 2 circle curves did not produce the shape I expected(and so my question) - now its clear.

Hi Pilou,

Well, if that was the result you wanted, Boolean Intersection is the most convenient way since it will automatically discard any pieces that were not within all volumes.

If you wanted to keep all the cut up pieces and use some of them instead of having them discarded, then that's when Boolean Merge can be good.

Excellent Pilou,

I would even say awsome, I learn something about history, I understand it the wrong way around. I thought history needed to be setup on the original object, so I thought it didn't work yet.

I think I'll try also to setup up history on all object to see if we can tweek the original object, base surface or line and the target surface or line as well.

Thanks,
Felix
