Hi Nick, yes that's possible by setting up a template file.
A template file is just a 3DM file that you set up how you want, and store in a location where you won't delete it. Then tell MoI to use it as the startup template by going to Options > General > Template file, and click the little "..." button there and then pick that 3DM file.
With that set up, then when MoI starts up, or when you use File > New, the stuff from that file will be read in as the default setup.
That can be used to set the view settings how you want (like which view is maximized, where the camera is at to start with, whether it's parallel or perspective in the 3D view, etc...) and also some other stuff like the default set of styles will all come from that file.
