Hi Paul - MoI does not have an eps export. But it can export 2D curves to .ai format though, and most of the time programs that would read .eps files should usually read .ai files as well.

The .ai format (for Adobe Illustrator v8 and lower which is the type that MoI writes) is actually very similar to .eps and it may be possible for you to just rename the .ai file that MoI writes to have an .eps file extension and see if that might work.

What application are you trying to read the eps file into?

Thank you Michael. It seems that only a few programs are able to open renamed .eps files.

Hi Paul, what program are you trying to import into?

If it doesn't know how to read .ai files, you could probably use a separate 2D illustration program to load in the .ai file and then export it out to .eps .

There is a free (because it was discontinued) 2D illustration program called Expression that can load .ai files from MoI and export to .eps format, it is still available from here:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/5/d/a5d625a5-2e3d-4e9c-8608-6de48d7b569f/CreatureHouseExpression3_3.exe

Also another one that would probably work is Mayura Draw which is an inexpensive ($39) 2D illustration program that you can get from here:
http://www.mayura.com/ - it also can load AI files written from MoI and then export out to EPS.

Hi Michael, sorry but I don't understand:

>But it can export 2D curves to .ai format though...

I don't see it in the export tool.

Why I haven't the .ai format?
Is there something that I don't know?
Thank you for your help.
It's not a pressing thing.

Hi FiL,

> I don't see it in the export tool.

Ah, but it is there.... ;)

Notice in your screenshot, there is a scroll bar on the right side of the list, here:

If you scroll down (click here):

Then you'll find Illustrator .ai as the last item in the list.

Also you don't actually need to use that list if you instead type in the .ai file extension in your file name. If you type in a particular file extension, MoI will write to that file type and you can skip setting that dropdown in that case. You only have to use the dropdown if you don't type in any file extension.

Thanks a lot Michael. It's working great with Mayura, the exported .eps file is scalled 1:1, so is great to use with older laser CNC machines for example.
