Script Error - Line 107, Column 1:

Just added the Command Line command to my v2 installation, followed the instructions in the text file verbatim, and now I'm getting the above error code any time I try to draw a rectangle. Doesn't matter what type I try to draw - corner, center or 3 pts. I draw out the rectangle and the error message appears when I try to complete the command (2nd left click). I dismiss the error message and the rectangle I just drew vanishes...

Is there something I can do to fix this that doesn't involve removing the CLine command?

Hi Satoribomb, that's kind of weird that it would affect the rectangle command, it's not supposed to do that.

There were a couple of different versions of the cline command, could you show me which particular one you are using so that I can take a look at it and try it over here to see what might be going wrong?

It kind of sounds like one of the other files in the commands folder that the rectangle command depends on may have gotten changed somehow though - if you uninstall and then re-install MoI v2 it should fix any files that got messed up at least.

Hi Satoribomb, I've tried installing it over here and I can't seem to replicate any problem.

But the first step in the readme.txt about editing the SidePane.htm file is not described in very much detail so it could be easy to have that messed up. Could you please post an attachment here of your current SidePane.htm file so I can see what your modified version looks like?

Hi Satoribomb - your SidePane.htm file seems fine.

Maybe the problem is with the edit to the EnglishStrings.txt file - did you
possibly save that file out with a different kind of text encoding than the
original file? That might cause some problems with command scripts that
try to grab some localized strings out of that file.

What happens if you replace your EnglishStrings.txt file with the attached
version (once it is unzipped) - that's the original v2 one. With that original
file in place do the script errors go away? Also did you edit any of the other
language Strings.txt file?

You can then modify your SidePane.htm to have a text label for that
button that is just hard coded text rather than looked up from the string
table, by using this:

code:
<td><moi:CommandButton style="icon:icons/CLIcon.png;" command="ConstructionLine">CLine</moi:CommandButton></td>

Hi Michael - looks like the issue wasn't MoI at all, but some corrupted system files on my Tablet PC. Had to do a Repair installation to fix the problem, but MoI is working as promised.

As best I can tell, some of the JScript components of Win 7 got corrputed during or after I installed Notepad++ to edit the Sidepane.htm file. Weird and lucky for me, fixable.

Thanks again for the assistance,
Hope 2011 is prosperous and fruitful for you.

Interesting... I had brought up to Michael on an old Box I had where it would generate a jscript error for any command I ran from the command line...(Type Tab and command name). It would produce the error and then if I chose cancel, it would continue and perform normally. (So just a nuisance).

I had thought that I tracked it to loading Visual Studio 2010 beta and it's help system which was buggard up.. I ALSO had installed Notepad++ on that machine...

I am on a system right now with neither, and dont have the issue... Dont really need Notepad++, but will respond if the next time I load Visual Srtudio on THIS machine, the thing returns!!!

FYI.

Hi Satoribomb, I'm glad you got everything working again.

Part of the work that I've been doing to move MoI v3 off of mshtml.dll also involves moving over to WebKit's JavaScript engine instead of the Windows jscript.dll . That will make MoI more self contained and more resilient to mild system or registry corruption.

Hi Anis,

My HP Tablet PC (Win 7 Pro) booted into self-repair mode after I was looking at boot repair options. I'm not sure how it happened, but it looks like HP's extensive suite of Bloatware worked to save the day. Go figure!
