Hi Michael, I'm doing this object and the fillet doesn't work.
I've tried after a scale at 1/100 but it doesn't work also.
I need a fillet with 2 mm radius.
Thank

FiL

Hello Fil,
If you scale the model and then select the entire model for fillet, it will succeed.

Open model and select and run scale. Type 0 and hit enter, then type .1 to scale it down by 10.. Then select the entire solid and run fillet with a value of .2 rescale back by 10.

Note that the fillet actually does these areas here too. I think this is the area that is giving the fillet issues with other methods...

I've attached your model here with the fillet from the above method.

Hi FiL & Burr - Burr I think you're right about that area giving the fillet some difficulty - that probably is just slightly too much of a crease there. If the pieces met smoothly at that point it would probably be easier to fillet.

But it looks like you can actually select the whole model without scaling it and then do a 2mm fillet - it will then do a fillet in that area that you indicated, and that seems to help making a better corner area for where the fillets on the outer edges come together as well.

So does that work for you FiL to get fillets on those other small areas as well? It looks like it may be difficult to get this filleted without doing those as well.

Thanks Burr for figuring it out!

- Michael

Yes, it can be a solution... I guess we don't see it when the object'll be in alluminium and titanium.

The last mistery of 2010!

So do I!

Thank's very much Burr and Michael!

Two hours at the end of the year... good night and good 2011!
