Some details here:

But basically you just copy the install folder to the USB key - make sure to copy everything including sub-folders.

Then also to avoid needing to enter in your license keys when you run it, you can copy your license key info to the USB key as well. To do that find the files named moi_v1_license.key and moi_v2_license.key and also copy those over to the USB key in the same spot as moi.exe .

Those license key files can be found here for Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\Moi\

or here for Windows Vista or Win7:
C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Moi\

Additionally if you want to bring over all your same settings for stuff like viewport background colors, etc..., also copy over the moi.ini file which is in the same spot as those license key files.

No, it shouldn't. Although it could be possible that other things on his system like a virus checker could make a difference. It could be possible that a virus checker would disable running programs directly off of a USB key entirely. Do you know if he is running something like that?

What happens when you try to run it from the USB key on your own computer, does it work fine there or does it also not work then?

Double check that you've got the entire folder and all the sub-folders (like the \ui and \commands sub-folders) copied to the USB.

Also can you describe a bit more about what happens when you tried to run it, did any kind of error message pop up? If so what did it say?

Hi Michael ...

I think I have it now. and thanks!

I will see my client again on Friday and will try it on his laptop (and I will take mine alone)

It works fine from the stick plugged into my desktop. I'll let you know if I have any more problems.

I had lost track of where to find my license keys.

thanks again,
eric
