LOL - no, they are not my fingerprints. I found the idea here: http://www.mrmaterials.com/jeffs-blog/81-aad-clay-material-and-other-random-stuff.html , so apparently they are Jeff's fingerprints. I just applied the same material for mental ray in Maya as he used in Max.

I also re-rendered the cup with much better lighting:
