Hi Lyes,

I'm not sure if stupid questions are allowed in this forum? :-) but here goes.

How do you make a patch with these extra points?

I've tried adding points to a plane, with no luck.

Kind Regards
Charles

Just draw the crosshatching lines and run "Network" on them.. The resulting surface will have the point structure of the hatch.

Hi Charles, there's also a "Set Path" option in Extrude that you can use to generate an initial surface with a particular control point count - the surface made with that option will have the same control point structure as the extrusion profile in one direction and the path's control points in the other direction.

See here for an example:
http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=1313.2

In the future I do want to make the "Add pt" command be able to add points to surfaces as well but right now it that one only works on curves.

Hi Guys,

Thank you, for the many ways to skin the proverbial cat. I always find it's a great day when I learn something I didn't know the day before. I tried yelling, "Divide", "Divide" at the screen but it didn't seem to work. Maybe in MoI V61.8. An "Add pt" would be most welcome, I agree. I just seems a logical thing to have. However with the simple way yourself and Burrman suggested to create them, it doesn't need to be a priority.

A big thank you, to you both.

Michael, pardon my asking but are you human? The reason I ask is you never seem to sleep. It's almost like you're literally plugged into the system and the minute something hits the forum, you're there like a flash to answer any questions :-)

Kind Regards
Charles

""""""""I tried yelling, "Divide", "Divide" at the screen but it didn't seem to work.""""""""""""""""

Hahahaha! Reminds me of my first experience with a computer. A guy gave me a computer with no OS. Just a blinking cursor. I typed "Hello" and waited for a response??? Called my friend who sent me a basic programmers guide! LOL

Hey BurrMan,

Oh, yes the good old days. I remember running an amiga version of POVray and watched each of the indivdual pixels take minutes to render. I'd go to bed and guesstimate how many pixels should render by the time I woke up. It never seemed to be enough. After a few weeks I'd finally have an image, and only then did I realise my camera was pointed in the wrong direction.

Cheers
Charles

Hi Michael,

I'm both glad and disapointed to hear that. I thought I might have made contact with a higher power :-)

Cheers

Ahh, the Amiga, I have a lot of fond memories of that. I got started with 3D graphics with Turbo Silver on the Amiga.

Especially if they said that you'd use the IBM PCs to do graphics and animation work!
