Hi NightCabbage, yeah in Scale1D after you have picked the first 2 points all further input is restricted and projected to that line.

So if you want to make some construction lines that are not on that same line you need to place them before you pick those 2 points, you should be able to pick any construction lines you need freely before that stage of the command.

The way construction lines work, when you activate one the construction line starts at the current "active point" which is the one with the crosshairs on it. I guess it could be possible for them not to work that way and instead go to the raw osnap point before projection, but that could possibly have bad side effects in other cases where other things like distance constraint could not be used to control the base point location of a construction line.

I've made a note though to look at this in v3, maybe just for the "restrict to line" case the raw unprojected osnap could be used as the start point and the end of the construction line allowed to move freely, then it would go back to the projected/restricted mode when you were back to picking a regular point again.

Hi NightCabbage, also the reason why Scale1D does that projection is so you can match the scale to the height of some surrounding objects easily, like this:

So here the corner of that box is being snapped on to for the final point, but because of the projection that becomes the elevation of that point in the scaling direction.

Thanks Michael

Yeah, I just thought that maybe the construction lines don't have to be resitricted?

Yes this is good, I like the current behaviour (just not how it prevents you from using C-Lines)

Hi NightCabbage,

Yeah I think that should be possible to set up in v3.
