I think you mean "recently"

"resently" could mean they didn't like joining... ;)

Surely..... hehe.....But I have another problem. I can see only a source code of my html file when trying a link... hmmm... it is strange... so maybe it will be necessary to download this file before viewing it...

Cool, thanks Petr for gathering this all in one place, it makes me feel like there has been some progress!! :)

Pretty big pause in the middle there when I worked about 2 months getting the ngon meshing stuff out, but I think that was worth it.

Let's see here - looking back the web site went live on 7/6/2006, and the first public beta release was a Jul-5-2006 version. Of course not many people knew about it until the upFront interview.

Here's something funny - this is what it looked like just a little before the first public beta - the icons were one of the last parts to be finished before the first public release:

And here is a screenshot from an early alpha version from almost exactly 2 years ago.

This version could only draw lines and circles, no surfaces or even selection yet. Things have definitely improved since then! :) :)

I often find it's difficult to pick the correct tool when represented by a pictures of animals. I'm glad they were replaced with graphic icons, although i have no bad feelings toward the llama, generally speaking...

But seems you had "infinite grids" :)

Just an idea :)
I have rarely seen the icone in "work" become animated!
(in 3D rotation for example)
Why not for show the tool in practice?

No, it was the same type of grid - I think it might have defaulted to a bit bigger. I actually doubled the default size a few betas ago.

Hmmm, that would be cool, but it would be really a lot of work to produce the animations. It's already quite a bit of work to get just regular non-animated icons!

> I often find it's difficult to pick the correct tool when represented by a pictures of animals.

Maybe this could be solved by a very careful choice of the animal.

For instance, a very skinny Llama could be used for the "Line" icon. To further enhance the uniqueness of the icon, I could replace the text "Line" with the animal's name, such as "Joe". So every time you saw Joe the Llama, you would instantly know that was the line drawing tool.

But I suspect the world may not be ready for Llama UI technology at this point in time... Maybe in a few years. :)

That's true. But we might confuse it with Joe Camel and close Moi to go out for a cigarette break! :)

Wow Michael thanks for the history lesson :)
It's always interesting to see how things progress. You've come a long way baby!

BTW can we have an option to have the llama-cons back ? We could call it "advanced UI" or something (Just kidding).

As always, keep up the fabulous work. Looking forward to the commercial release!

Would you consider me a junior member as I have only been here since October? ;)
