We have developed a standard plug-in specification so that the plug-in will function the same in every application.
Currently, the only benefit of creating a plug-in for MOI3D would be to transfer the camera position (which can be manually entered from MOI3D into Octane.)
The plug-in's really assist in creating animations and re-exporting all the geometry on each frame. I simply just export from MOI3D as OBJ and then import it into Octane. I usually find that I get better camera angles when exploring the scene in Octane than I do in a modeling view port anyway.
