just installed the april beta and MoI won't perform even the simplest booleans...like cube minus cylinder...the "calculating" indicator just goes on and on.

other functions are ok, trim, for example

i recently reinstalled windows (xp)...could it have something to do with this?

no problem with v1.1

any ideas?

Hi Steve, hmm that sounds odd, I can't remember any other reports similar to that.

Are the objects at an unusually large or small scale or something?

Could you post an example 3DM file with a cube and cylinder that does not work?

What happens if you reboot your machine?

You also might try uninstalling the beta and re-installing it fresh to see if there was a problem with the MoI installation itself.

Seems doubtful...

Do you have anything running systemwide like a virus checker / anti-spyware type thing which you have have set to not interfere with MoI 1.1 but not the new beta ?

yes, thanks Michael...i changed to a new firewall recently and that was the problem...i would have thought of that eventually!!

i haven't been using MoI much lately, so it's really great to see how well the object organization system has developed...always a pleasure to use MoI

Hi steve, I'm glad you got it figured out!

It sounds like the firewall was preventing MoI from talking back and forth between some of its internal parts.
