I had posted some PMs and the recipient said they could not reply because I have opted out to receive PMs.

I checked my settings and they seem okay.

Is there something I am missing?

Hi Michael T, I don't really know what might be wrong there.

I've sent you a PM, can you see if you can reply to it?

Hi Michael T, you might check in the forum options under "Relationships" - there is a setting under there for individual people that you can block from receiving PMs from, maybe an accidental click on some widget set this individual person block flag or something like that.

Hi Michael T, also the settings section of the forum is a bit confusing - under the Email & Privacy section in the forum options, the setting to disable or enable receiving private messages is labeled "Allow other users to send me personal messages", and there are actually 2 checkboxes on the line there for it.

The checkbox on the left means to enable or disable it, and the checkbox on the right-hand side means "apply this setting globally to all forums" (for example to the French language forum which is another forum kind of parallel to this one) or only for this forum's settings.


Or maybe you ran into just some temporary glitch where the forum database was inaccessible for just that moment.


At any rate, please let me know if you continue to see any problems with it.

I checked on the box to allow for all forums. We'll see how that works :-)
