Umm...$995 is pretty much for a renderer.

Well, it's in the same pricerange as the big ones out there (Fry, Maxwell, Vray).
It is more limited when it comes to lighting and such but it's sooooo fast.
The full render is 2000x1000 pixels and rendered in less then 10 minutes!
That's something i'll never accomplish in the other ones.

But, that being said, it is a lot of money.

And why isn't my profile updated? MICHAEL !!!!! ;-) j/k

Hi Edwin, that turned out great!

That could be an effective way to wake up in the morning, just put your mouth directly under that... :)

Dear Edwin,

Could you please tell me which format you used to export from Moi into KeyShot?

Thank you,

Philip

Hi Philip, I know you were asking Edwin, but I just wanted to mention that most people will use OBJ format to export from MoI to KeyShot.

I'd also recommend setting the "Output" option at export time to "Output: Quads & Triangles".

Hi Philip,
I use different workflows. When using simple materials i export straight from Moi to Keyshot using the .obj format as Michael already mentioned.
Materials used in Moi are transferred as well...great stuff.
When i need uvmapping i use the .obj OR .lwo format and import in Modo/Lightwave, do my stuff, export to .obj and import in Keyshot.

Hi Edwin. Nice shot, but the DOF is very weird. Doesn't appear to be based on depth at all. Looks more like a Photoshop lens blur applied with a radial gradient. This DOF is direct from Keyshot? Or applied in post? just curious...

Hi Jonah,
the DOF is post from Photoshop (linear gradient (diagonally) and a gaussian blur).
It's indeed not based on depth (unless it's mimicking someone with a bad left eye;-)
