Hope I can work that through!

Hi Brian, do you mean that the Template file thing is confusing you?

You can do the first step of just adding the styles you want and then saving that to a 3DM file, right?

After you have done that, you just go to the Options dialog, which you can launch by pushing this button:

You will want to fill in the option that says "Template file", push the little button at the end of the line to get a file picker dialog, then pick the file you saved that has your styles in it:

That's it, you're done - the next time you start MoI your initial style list will be loaded from that file. If you want to update them, just update that file.

MoI will need to access that file every time it starts, so put the file somewhere that you are not likely to delete it. If you delete it, then MoI won't be able to find it at startup and it will revert to the stock set of styles if that happens.

I understand that last post (easy) but, trying to use your previous explanitory post seems to be beyond me---brrrhhh!

Am I miss interpreting what your meaning is of--"set up a blank model""??

Sorry!

Hi Brian,

> Am I miss interpreting what your meaning is of--"set up a blank model""??

Blank in this context just means "no objects".

So set up your styles as you want, but do not create any objects - then save out as a 3DM file. The file will contain no objects but it will contain a style list still.

When you set it as a template, that file will be loaded as the starting environment when you start up MoI or pick File / New.

You can have objects in there as well, if you always want some particular objects to be included in your environment when you start up MoI each time, but usually most people don't want there to be any objects in their model when they initially start the program, hence the "blank" part.

Great stuff Michael G.! I noticed that you don't have to hold down the tab key while typing "merge" when merging edges. Much easier to use!

Thanks again for a great tool!
