I am using something similar at the moment. Except that I have used the array on spline function to space the cutting lines along the surface.
However this breaks down in places where the surface changes abruptly.

Can you then take all the arrayed lines and raise them up a bit and project them onto the surface in place?

Hi Burrman,
well I use the Curve -intersection tool which gives me a good result, but the surface is curved in 2 directions,
which means that where the curve becomes extreme, the lines are not 100% parallel.
I will have to upload an example.
I got something good enough right now, would be good to have an automatic tool for this at some point

Hi okapi, I would like to have that in the future, but unfortunately an offset curve on surface function is not easy to create and it is not currently available in the geometry library that I use for MoI.

So it will probably be some time before it would be possible to add it as an automatic tool.
