Better resize for background-image

I use Moi very very often for doing floorplans.
Most times i got only a paper-copy of an floorplan, scan it, lay it in the background and then
i start with some lines and so on.
The biggest problem here is to get the right size of the floorplan.
In most case there are some dimensions givven in the plan.
For example an dimensionening of 1000mm.

then i create a rectangle with 1000mm.
After that i try to push and pull the backgroundimage so long if the given dimensioning will fit
to the 1000mm rectangle.
That is very very hard sometimes.

Is it possible to get an feature where i can set a line with 2 points on the backgroundimage
and then enter a value and say that this line on the image is 1000mm long.
And then moi will blow up the image to this?

Hope you could understand what i mean.

You have "align" Button in the image Menu who makes that you want ;)
Does this example not too "fractal" ? :)
The 2 points are the base point image and click twice on the target original square image ;)

With the Align command you can draw a reference line the length of a dimension line found on the image using the line command. Then use align to match the ends of the dimension line on the image with image base point and image reference point to the end points of the reference line you drew with target base point and target reference point.

Hi Frenchy, looks like we are responding simultaneously.

Hi B-W-Design, yes like Pilou and bisenberger mention above there is a new "Align" function for the image command in MoI v2 which enables you to do what you are describing.

It works by picking 2 reference points in the image, and then 2 target points in the model, and transforms the image to align those 2 lines with one another.

You can snap the model points on to existing geometry, or you can also enter in a numeric scale value by using the distance constraint function where you type in a number and that places the second point at that distance away from the first picked point. So for example to make your image line 1000 units you would type in "1000" and push enter when you are picking the 2 model target points.

See this previous thread for some illustrations:
