Hi Burr, no MoI won't really work for that, you generally need some specialized reverse engineering software to take faceted mesh data and produce a smooth surface model.

There's a few Rhino plugins such as

Rhino Reverse
Rhino Resurf
Smurf

it could also be done manually in Rhino, but if the mesh is complex, you will need a very high tolerance for pain... : )

Hi Michael,
Thanks for responding to that again for me. I had said that in another forum and someone told me rhino could do it. I will post those links in the other forum as a basis for what I had posted.
