Hi Joe, I definitely do want to add printing in the future.
But the initial focus for MoI is much more just on the 3D creation side of things.
You do have to use some other software to actually do the printing right now. You can do a screen capture like Steve mentions above, and then use any bitmap program (including the built in Windows pbrush.exe paint program) to print the image.
But you may want to use a CAD program to print.
One inexpensive option is ViaCAD, there is a low cost ($49) 2D version which I think is able to take in 3D CAD models and then generate hidden lines views and let you put dimensions on them and things like that. Some info on that is here: http://www.punchcad.com/products/viacad2dV6.htm
Also there is a more full featured version of ViaCAD which is still really cheap ($99), so it may be worthwhile to get that one. That one is here: http://www.punchcad.com/products/viacad2d3dV6.htm
One of those would probably be the easiest route to get some nice printouts now.
Oh please, Michael! Take the UN*X approach and leave printing to other better products.
MoI scores so highly because you ONLY focus on the 3D creation side of things!
This tool is by far the easiest I've ever used. I just spent 4 weeks creating a concept design in Sketchup v7 that I was able to recreate in MoI in 4 hours!!!
And with MoI's perfect .STL output, our Dimension 3D printer sees no errors.
Try that with SketchUp!
just keep in mind, the annual maintainence charge for Alibre Standard is about $300. They have a new version coming in September. You won't receive tech support or updates/upgrades unless you pony up the $300 first... I believe they have a deal right now for $348 which includes the first year of maintenance charges...
