You can only use Parallel, and not VMFusion to run moi, because VMFusion does not emulate DirectX.
At least the last time I checked (there might have been an update).

I would download the latest version of parallel, and install the RC of Windows7. This windows versionis 'free' until next spring, which gives you enough time to see if you like it. I can't remember how long the parallels trial runs for, but it should also give you enough time to try before buying.

I have run Moi under parallel on an octocore macpro. There is a little time offset when you navigate the view, but otherwise it works fine.
Also there is always the option of using bootcamp, but I think it is better if possible to just run moi under Windows and do rest in OSX, if you are used to working in the later.
Good luck

If I were you I would download the mac beta of rhino and see what you think of that. It is not complete, but it is pretty usable, and it will be free until they wrap up the beta process, which could be some time...
Rhino is not a hundred miles away from moi, and is a more mature product, so you may get what you are after without running windows etc etc

Both Rhino and Moi are fantastic products...

cheers

Hi rabbit, that's a good tip, but I'd have to say describing the Mac version of Rhino as "mature" is very misleading though.

Certainly that description would apply to the Windows version of Rhino, but to the current Mac one, no way...

But it would be worth checking out, sure.

Thanks to all for your helpful suggestions.

Are there any known issues with the Wacom Intuos graphic tablet and Bootcamp/Parallels/MoI?

Thankl you!

Karl

Hi Karl & all,

Please understand me right, it`s not my ego...or a provocation...or against PARALLELS / VMWare

We make daily support for a CAD application, and our expiriencies are:

PARALLELS and VMWare.....others
They will get better and better, that's not a question,
but for the daily & professional work/usage with 3D CAD or graphic design,
unfortunately still not suitable. ( Only for hobby usage, or some games...)

Boot Camp
With Boot Camp, the second OS running natively. ( OS X and Windows )
Disadvantage in order to change the OS -> A reboot is necessary.
Workaround: An external FAT 32 HDD

All Windows drivers work well, also our small BAMBOO`s :)

Hi Karl,

I'm running MOi latest beta, on an Imac Intel (2gb ram) 1st generation with parallels 3.

Work fine, if you do very very funky things you can restart on bootCamp side.
Also parallels can see the bootcamp disk drive partition !

Look M'ma what i have done with moi ! :)
