360view

Hello Michael!

I think of an 360view feature in this thread. It would be useful this view scroll via axis for projections when I dont need to rotate my object for properly side-projections but only the view change, not the model.

Hi andras, that's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure if I understand completely.

Do you mean you want a way to rotate for example the "Right" view so that it was viewing in some other direction than from the right-hand side?

That seems like it could potentially be pretty confusing, because it would have that label of "Right" on it, but if you had rotated around somewhere else, you would actually not be getting the view looking from the right-hand side in it anymore... Those view labels would basically by lying then, they would say things like "Top", "Front", "Right", for views that were not Top, Front, and Right...

Also what if you moved your Right view to some other direction, but then later on you wanted to return to an exact Right view?

Maybe you would be interested in this plugin which gives an animated turntable rotation in the 3D view:

Hi Andras,

Can you use the cplane function to set up the view you want? It sounds more like you are looking for a dynamic view rotate within the view?

Hello Guys Thanks for your help!
Michael the autorotate2 plugin is great. I thought of this. Wonderful! Just that would be better for me in paralel view because of projections.

Hi andras,

> Just that would be better for me in paralel view because of projections.

In MoI v2 you can change the 3D view to be a parallel projection - go to Options > View > 3D view projection. By default it is perspective, but you can change it to parallel there.

You can also set up some keyboard shortcuts to orient the 3D view to the Top, Front, or Right, see this thread:
http://moi3d.com/forum/messages.php?webtag=MOI&msg=2104.1

You can also control the 3D view by setting the angles under Options > View > 3D view angles .

So probably by combining those together you could set up your 3D view to be a parallel front view, and then use the auto rotate plugin to get the kind of animation that you want I think.
