Hi Michael,

One request that would be nice would be if you could toggle the active view to full screen with the spacebar. In other words if the Front view is active and you hit the spacebar then it would toggle Front View to full screen mode.

It would make it just a hair faster to switch screens in to full mode.

Thanks again for all of your work on this fantastic program!

Richard

Spacebar is currently Select All / Deselect All
I = Invert Selection
H = Hide Invert selection
Have you the same on your Comput?

Hi Pilou -

> Have you the same on your Comput?

I think these are the custom keyboard shortcuts that you have defined for your computer - other computers are not set up with these keys by default.

Is it possible to press something for have the list of ShortCut used?
And better a Dialog box for "Input / Change" Key ShortCut?

Hi Richard,

This is possible in the current version by defining a custom keyboard shortcut.

To do this, close down MoI, then run notepad and open up the moi.ini file, which you can find in this location: C:\Documents and Settings\[your login name]\Application Data\Moi\moi.ini . Note that by default "Application Data" is a hidden folder, but you can just type it and go into it anyway.

Inside the moi.ini file, there is a section labeled [Shortcut Keys]. Add this line to it:

[Shortcut Keys]
Space=script:if ( moi.ui.mainWindow.viewpanel.mode != 'split' ) { moi.ui.mainWindow.viewpanel.mode = 'split' } else { var viewport = moi.ui.getViewportUnderMouse(); if ( viewport ) { viewport.viewPanel.mode = viewport.name } }

Put all that Space= stuff all on one single line.

Make sure to close down moi.exe before editing the moi.ini file.

After you do this, your space bar will put the view under your mouse into full screen mode, or if you are already in full screen mode it will switch to split mode.

Let me know if you have any problems setting this up.

I do want to have a dialog box for this eventually. This will probably be a little while though.

Right now you can see the list of shortcuts by opening up your moi.ini file.

Oh, and Petr has listed some other useful scripts you can assign to shortcut keys here: http://moi3d.com/forum/messages.php?webtag=MOI&msg=204.3

Michael,
Thank you so much :)
I had no idea you could edit the ini file like that *rubs hands together* now I'm of to do some tweaking.

You mean something like this?

This will be in the next beta.

Now I've got to stop adding stuff for a little bit and go back and finish up the background images... :)

Hi Bernard, thanks for the feedback!

> Could you implement a "cap ends" function for the Revolve and
> Rail Revolve tools as you've done for Loft and Sweep ?

This part is now done for the next beta.

But I'm afraid the other ones will have to wait a while...

Hi Pilou,

Just stars for now. Gears would definitely be useful, but they are a lot more complex with a lot more options needed for real engineering use, so those will have to wait for a while.

Hi,

Maybe a "select 1 over n" tool can simplify this like Hex.

Another wish:

1) Are great if Michael add the Mirror Sketch like Max Power Nurbs! ;)

Here a demo video:

http://www.integrityware.com/tutorials/Max/AdvTutorials/new_phone_demo_Ver_02/new_phone_demo_Ver_02.html

P.S.
Why don't write a Cinema4D Plugin like this? A sort of MOI integrated with Cinema4D?

Tnx ! ;)

A virtual mirror (like Wings3D) or a real mirror?

@Mr braun
You don't find than Moi is yet "a plugin" for any 3Dprog ? :)
Why just Cinema4D? :D
"Integration" is realy necessary?

Yes Pilou, i agree with you, but CInema4D really need a plugin to manage nurbs surface and that good work with the spline! ;)

I talk about Cinema4D because Michael is a Cinema4d User: it will be great to render directely into cinema without other steps! ;)

I know layers/groups are a ways off, but here is what I'd like to see...

Groups:
*You should be able to group objects together, and manipulate them as a whole wrt rotation, scaling, clipping, etc.
*Groups should be able to contain objects in different layers.
*You should be able to hide/show groups
*Groups should be lockable so that they can not be operated on.

Layers:
* You should be able to assign an object to a layer
* You should be able to lock and hide/show a layer.
* Objects not assigned to a layer, by default are part of a 'default' layer that can be locked, hidden, etc.

Colors:
* Assign a color to a object, group, or all objects in a layer.

Why layers/Groups?

Well, with even moderately complicated models, I find myself constantly pushing curves out of the way, or trying to make do with just the global show/hide.
With layers, I could lay out all my contours on a a plane or so, group them, put them in a layer, set it's color ( light grey ) and lock it. Now I have a reference for my further work.

:)
