Hi Pilou - is your goal to select one ring of points?

If so, then try switching to one of the ortho views, like the Front or Right view where you can more easily grab a selection window around one ring.

Also you can do it in the 3D view if you tilt your view a bit, like this:

Hope that helps! I do want to add some other kinds of selection tools in the future but for now you would need to use this method.

- Michael

Yes this can help :)
But as I am a boring person it's the 1/n points who is interesting ;)
Of course I can make it by hand but...
Maybe for the next ...version :)

I like the way modo does this. Select the first, skip one, select the next. Then hold down the up cursor key and modo selects every second point in the loop until it gets to the end. Also works for skipping more than one point. Really nice.

Yes, a loop select function would be extremely handy.

So you could select 2 points beside eachother in the loop, run the select loop function, and it would select the rest.

Or you could select a point, and then skip one, and then select the next point, and it would select every second point, and so on.

There is yet Loop selection segment
script:/*Loop selection*/moi.geometryDatabase.selectLoop();

so maybe automatically adding points to segments then select edges by browser for hide them can make the trick?

I don't remember if a function exist for add point at extremities of segments?
