Problem saving with V2 April Beta. Surfaces deleted.

Has anyone had any trouble with the April V2 Beta where surfaces are being deleted when work is saved?

When I make a small tweak to this particular model, a large partially joined surface is being deleted.

Is this a known problem or should I explain further?

Hi Mark, so far I have not heard of any other reports similar to this.

It sounds like you may be able to reproduce the problem from a particular file, though?

If so, can you please send it to me, you can e-mail it to me at moi@moi3d.com if you want to keep it private.

What kind of tweak causes the problem? Is it when some curves that were originally used to create the surface are edited in some particular way? It is possible that you are seeing some result of the history update mechanism that remembers how a surface was constructed, and will reconstruct it if input curves are modified.

If that is the problem, you can select the surface and turn off history updating on it by selecting it and going to Edit / History / Disable update. That would then prevent the surface from recalculating when the input curves are modified.

Hi Michael,

Many thanks for your usual prompt reply.

Needless to say, I have been unable to reproduce the problem tonight. Perhaps it was just brain fade on my part. Maybe, just store this in the back of your mind in case someone else reports something similar.

I will let you know if it happens again.

I hope I didn't take too much of your time.

Yup, sometimes if I hear something similar a few times it can help to look for common things between them to track down the bug.

Thanks for the report, and yes if you see it again please let me know.
