Hi Marcel, do you mean you want to write out only some of the objects in your model and not everything?

To do that, first select the objects that you wish to write, and then use File/Export.

The Export command is a shortened name for "Export selected" - it will write only the currently selected objects out to the file that you choose.

The regular "Save" or "Save As" commands will write everything regardless of selection.

Hi Marcel, I think I see what you mean now.

It was a problem in MoI v1 where if you did a File/Export to a mesh file format, that once your export was finished those objects would be deselected. This was a side effect from the main objects being hidden temporarily so that you could see the generated meshes.

This has been solved in MoI v2 (including in the current beta release), so that the original selection is now preserved when you complete the Export.

So if you are using v1 you will need to reselect your objects in order to delete them, but in v2 you can just hit delete.

After an obj Import the object select stay naturally selected when return!

As System objects will be for the next version, make big project with actual version is some heroic :)
For the moment better is made one part in Moi then copy/past directly in Rhino (Ctrl +/ Ctrl +V)
and Open several session in the same time
All that will be different with the next version!

One other thing that you can do to make this a little easier in v1 is to hide all the other objects than the current selection. That way after the export is done you can use Ctrl+A to select just those objects and delete them.

You can also use this command for a keyboard shortcut (Go to Options / Shortcut keys to add in a new one), which will hide all objects other than the current selection:

script:var gd = moi.geometryDatabase; gd.invertSelection(); gd.hide(true); gd.selectAll();

Paste the above in as the "Command" part for the new shortcut key.
