Hi Michael ...

I am aware that it is not high on the priority lists and I am not urging you to make it so ...

but ... someday

I would like to be able to move the UI onto another monitor to maximize the drawing board (so to speak)

I do that now with other programs and really appreciate it.

cheers,
eric

Hi Eric, yup that is definitely something that I want to provide in the future.

It will take quite a bit of work so I'm not quite sure when it will happen though. It will need a kind of revamp of some of the fundamentals of the overall UI system to make it work well.

Good, as long as it stays on the edge of the plate somewhere. :)

Hi, Eric, I'll be pushing this back into the middle of the plate every so often too. So that's 2 of us for nagging :-)

You guys will have to let me know which other features that you asked for that you would like for me to postpone in order to do it though... ;)

I can't do everything all at the same time, so if I focus on something that will take a lot of work it means that other chunks of work have to get postponed.

Michael ....

This is NOT a high priority for me ... just keep up your good work and get to this sometime in the future ... it would make my work flow easier, I think, but it is not a big deal as long as you keep the UI from taking up too much real estate ... and I can see that is a strong goal for you. Bravo!

There's a guy named "Miguel Gibseon" that wants to intern for Triple Squid. He's in College right now working on a "Sculpturing" program....I think he calls it "Hippo". :O

You'll have to put up with his Genious, though not for too long because you cant keep those type A personalities tied to one thing for 30 years.

If you've got a decent enough monitor I find moi's interface pretty ecconomic as it is - can't really see the need for multiple monitors but I guess i only ever use one anyway. I do like the scaleable UI feature very cool having it as a slider!!!

INDEED, even on my Dell laptop 1920x1200 res, MoI look "empty". you can imagine how it looks on 30-inch Displays.

Neither did I till I had them :-)

Over the last few months my work has been adding a second monitor to all the CAD and engineer's stations as they have finally woken up to the productivity gains. It also saves on printing: people open the PDF, specification, email or whatever, on the second screen and read it there rather than print it out.

>> I do like the scalable UI feature very cool having it as a slider!!!

I like this too, but not as much as being able to move palettes onto the second one and arrange them the way I would like, ala Photoshop, Fireworks, modo, etc. ;-)

Of course if we all had 30" LCDs there would be no problem LOL

Still, Michael has said he'll look at it eventually - so I'm hopeful.

Whoa, my screens are only 1600x1200, what do you guys consider a 'normal' size? [edit]

Why two monitors when you can have an EIZO or other 30” @ native 2560 x 1600 ?

I think that the new scene browser in "inside" mode will do a pretty good job of making use of that currently empty space on a large display.

Cost - pure and simple. I can't afford it, so I have two 21".

Yep ... same here!

It's gorgeous but big bucks ... I'll be happy with my 19/21 combo for some time to come.

Just upgraded cpu and motherboard, ram and hard drive for less than a third of the cost of a 30" monitor.

cheers,
eric

Well I did say I would brag, so this seems like the appropriate place.

I got my new 30 inch with a 24 inch next to it :O

No more room problems.

Why the second monitor? Since my brain is such a small one :O I cant retain anything so I use alot of reference material and demo video (Second monitor while working). I watch michael draw a 6 toed somthingorother while I work.

Well, with 54 inches of screen space I suppose you have a right to brag :-)

Jealous, me? Never ;-)
