Currently moi V1 have ability to import Iges file.
V2 will come with layer management.

Will it import iges level as layer ?
I did a quick test in rhino ( evaluation ) and get the result very nice.

Hi Anis, yes I think that I will be able to make the IGES level information be preserved.

I won't be focusing on this part until after the basic mechanisms are in place in the UI first though.

I did a test import iges file to MoI V2 Beta ( April ) and below is the result :


Looks like the layer from iges not mapped correctly to MoI layer system.

As I mentioned in the message above (link), I won't be focusing on this part until after the basic mechanisms are in place in the UI first.

It probably won't be much longer before I can get that part working, but the Apr-12 release is the release that is focused on the new UI as I wrote about previously.

Hi Michael,

I just have one iges file with level inside it.
The file more than 60 Mb, so its impossible send by email.

Hopefully another guys in this forum can provide the smaller iges file.

Here's an .iges file with some primitive solids, curves, colors and layers from NX 6.
I've included the log file also, is this what you want or something chunkier ?

Also, I have to ask you a few questions about styles, layers and object names, I think that object name should represent layers, discuss later.

I think most cad packages if not all have a layer system, NX has traditional 256 layers, but then you can have named categories/groups where you assign any number of layers to, then the style and object type control is handled by filters.

Is that a plastic injection mold that you tried to import into MoI :)
