Only Michael can send you something!
So moi@moi3d.com is the only solution
You can load the training version before he can answer you! No Key for that!
http://moi3d.com/1.0/trial/moi_v1_nosave_trial_setup.exe

Maybe try to install an another Navigator than Explorer!

any chance you have installed the Internet Explorer 8 beta? Because i had the same problem, could not install MoI 1.0 on my system after that...

jonah

BTW Michael - If you're reading this, you remember I had same problem mentioned above caused by IE8. But I'd been noticing that I'd been getting weird crashes (mostly in Photoshop). And each time it would try to debug using Visual Studio. I know my installation of VS had some problem because it showed an error each time i started it. So I then uninstalled VS and now I can run MoI 1.0 again! A happy accident indeed :) BUT i do need to reinstall VS sometime soon. Do you think i may hit that same problem again? Thanks...

Hi snookster - I got your e-mail and sent you a reply an hour or so before, if you did not receive it you might check your junk or spam mail folder, maybe it was routed to there.

I will also post it here as well just in case:

-------------------------------------------------------------

Hi snooky snooky - this happens due to a bug in IE8 beta2.
The bug in the IE8 beta causes MoI to not be able to display
OK or Cancel buttons as it normally would.

Currently to use MoI version 1.0 you will need to uninstall
the beta version of IE8 and go back to the regular release
version of IE7, I think there is an entry for this in the
"Add/Remove programs" area under something like "Windows
Internet Explorer 8".

I'm waiting to see if they fix the bug in their
final release of IE8, if they don't then I will put out a
patch to make MoI v1 work with it.

The current v2 beta does have some changes that avoid this
problem, so at the moment if you can't uninstall the IE8
beta from your system you could instead use the MoI v2 beta
which you can download from here: http://moi3d.com/beta.htm

Hi jonah,

> Do you think i may hit that same problem again?

It's kind of hard to say - it sounds like your previous problem may have been some kind of bad installation of some system components.

I wouldn't think that installing Visual Studio should have any bad effect on MoI but if a system component does not get installed correctly all kinds of weird things can happen certainly...

If you run IE right now, what is the version number that is reported under Help/About? Maybe you got back to an IE7 install which then made MoI work.

It should normally be possible to uninstall the IE8 beta, so I'm not sure what happened in your case previously where you said you couldn't uninstall it? Note that its entry in the Add/Remove programs list is a bit different than what you might expect - instead of being under something like "Internet Explorer", look for it under "Windows Internet Explorer".

Also, probably a good idea to avoid installing beta OS components on your production system if possible! A beta of an individual specific program is certainly fine normally, but beta OS components have a lot more potential to mess things up.

Hi Vince, the problem where the OK and Cancel buttons do not work properly when IE8 is installed is fixed in the 1.1 update.

You can download the update installer here:
http://moi3d.com/1.0/update/moi_v1_1_update.exe

If you run that updater, it will patch your 1.0 install to be version 1.1 that should now work properly with IE8.

Please let me know if you have any problems after doing the update.
