Hi Anis - that appears to be a vertical projection of a circle to make those holes.

So to do that, draw one circle, then select it, and use Transform/Array/Grid to replicate it into a grid pattern. Then select your base object, and use Boolean Difference, select the arrayed circles as the cutting objects and it should produce that result.

Hi Anis - sorry, I didn't look close enough! I see now that they are little spheres.

MoI does not currently have an array command to replicate an object across a curved surface.

I think that Rhino does have a command to do that, so if you need to do that particular kind of shape I would recommend using Rhino for that currently.

One thing that you could try - get some curves below your surface:

Use Construct / Curve / Project to project them on to the surface:

Draw a sphere at the end:

Use Transform/Array/Curve to replicate it:

Anis

I think you will see that this first approach needs a bit of finessing, BUT, I think the approach is right.

Hooray for Arrays!

Brian

PM me if you want the 3dm file.

More variations--can not get to sleep so just fidling with various ideas for fun.

Used the projection of a spiral for the Array path.
