Yes, I use it all the time, the only difference is that in MoI it will project the curves in both directions in this situation, but it's no big deal you just delete the one you don't want.

I'm not sure what problem you're showing there? Everything seems to be working as I would expect in your example...

Are you possibly looking for something different than a projection, like a wrapping of text along the surface of the cylinder rather than projected on to it by a straight direction? There is not a way in MoI to do that style of curve morphing in MoI currently.

That "Wrapping text along a surface" feature is very handy & something I'd really like to see in MoI.
So at this point I'm assuming that it'll be something you'll look at for V3??

I'm not sure... It could possibly be in v2 if I can find a good place to put it in the UI.

Do you think it would work as another option in the Mode: drop-down for the current Project command?

Personally, ideal spot. That is, if it is going to be curve only wrapping, if surface wrapping is involved then maybe not.

I could take planar curves and place them in the UV space of the surface you pick, then push them up into 3D.

Those of us with Carrara have the ability to create lettering to a curve.
It really is a great companion to MoI.

That'd be great if you're able to, but no mad rush if you can't...one thing at a time. ;)

Well if they're going to be curves, then that sounds about as good a place as any for it.
As always, I'm sure you'll come up with the best viable options for us.
