copy verification message

Hi Michael,

When I select an object, then copy it with ctrl+c, a message shows in MoI in the upper right area. I think this message probably says that the items are successfully copied... but its up there for about 2 nanoseconds, so I dont really know what it says. ;) Can you put a delay on said message so its readable?

Hi Nick, actually what that says is "Select objects to copy".

You'll see it more clearly if you do a ctrl+c with nothing selected - it is for selecting objects to copy if there was nothing selected at that time.

If you already have some objects selected (kind of the normal case), then that stage is just skipped and the UI will only flash briefly on the screen.

Generally all MoI commands that work on a selection will prompt you for a selection if you run them with no current selection. That is to support "post pick" style selection for people who are more used to selecting objects after a command has started rather than before. Some programs like AutoCAD are set up primarily that way.

Ok, now I see.

Well, my request still stands then. I'd like to know visually that the command was done. Put it on the wishlist after my request for a visual verification of a save. ;-):-)

thanks,

Nick

Just my opinion but the only information I can think of being valuable with the clipboard is a message like:

"Clipboard: (2) Solids, (1) Surface, (5) Closed Curves, (1) Open Curve"

This would at least tell me WHAT I currently have copied on the clipboard. But I'm not missing any sleep by not having clipboard info??

As far as Saving, I'd like to have a Save Incremental since I use that a lot where available. (sorry, I'm just lumping in a recent wish of mines with yours to save a post :-P )

Hi Nick, I added it to the wishlist.

It probably needs to wait until there is some kind of general purpose "notification area" where I can kind of stream a running set of messages to.

It's also pretty normal operating procedure to not get any confirmation of a Ctrl+C - for example if I do a Ctrl+C in a web browser or in Word or pretty much most programs that I can think of, there isn't any kind of confirmation UI shown...

Hi Will,

> As far as Saving, I'd like to have a Save Incremental

This is available on a keyboard shortcut - put in the command: IncrementalSave
