Hi Leif,

I'm using Camtasia Studio v5 (http://www.techsmith.com/) , as I've gotten more used to it, it has gradually become more natural to use it to explain things that take several steps. (rather than a longer sequence of static screenshots I mean).

Thanks very much!

Hi TwinSnakes,

>Danny, how long did that Hypershot render take?

Same as ed, seconds, the picture you see there is is only a screen shot.

ed, your welcome!

Here is my quick render in Carrara6Pro. Both HDRI and Caustics. 40secs.

Think I have the glass a fraction thick?

Hi Brian,

Yes. The glass thickness makes it on the side of heavy duty restaurant glass rather than on the elegant (but bulky?) Baccara crystal.
In other words, better for sundaes than champagne.

The foot is also too narrow and the stem too weak for the bowl.

Well, this explains why the blue one fell aside and didn't break :)

Also, the light source seems to be directly over the standing glass and creates a distracting halo.

Looking forward to see the next ones.

Have a good evening, night day or whatever hour it is now,

Michel

Hi Michel

Yes, I agree with all of that----I was too enamoured with the modelling principles/theories.

The Hdri lighting and etc were from a preset file----I removed the original objects, replacing them with the the glasses---I am afraid that I take the easiest/shortcut approaches to things--being too finicky shortens the range of life experiences one can practice?

Here in Aussie--where the day starts at the proper time, it is just after Noon , 26th Nov!

Have fun

Brian

Like I said this was poly modelled, but I thought I might post it here anyway.

Now for my next challenge, which I WILL do in MoI - cutlery!

Hi Brian,

Yes. It is a always a great pleasure to visit this site to find new ways of conceiving objects.
I am used to traditional techniques in plaster mouldmaking and modeling.
Some of these techniques and concepts are the sources of many of the 3D program tools. Extrude, Loft, Revolve, Sweep, Blend

All ways are interesting. So I'm returning another question - not being finicky* enough, shortens the life of experiences ?

*I like that word although I am not sure to fully understand its scope. It sounds quite whimsical in French.

Have a good ...time.

Finneky! (whatever spelling)
I can not find it in the dictionary I have at hand either!

English is quite crazy!

It means being obsessed with the close/exact attention to fine detail.

Every day I have is fun I do not deserve!

Live for the day!
