Hello

I've no plan at this object.
I get no possibility to use fillet to the edges. This refers to the outer part and the joint part.
What do I wrong?

Regards

Apophis

If it's this kind of filleting work you're looking for, I can create a little video to show my workflow. I just can't comment what I'm doing
because my english is really bad :S (and they are many little stuff that should be explain)

Hello

That's look really good. I guess I know what was happen. I can not use the fillet tool on a flat surface. But in this case I must rethink my workflow. A little video would be nice. And no matter with your english. My english is horrible...

Hello again

Two rendertests with my way to fillet some edges. In my opinion the sample from PaQ looks really better. Seems to be very difficult to decide the ride way. I'm curious about on PaQ workflow.

Greetings from Munic
(you know the "Münchner Kindl"? )

Yes PaQ! A video would be fantastic. I also struggle with filleting and have to confess that I avoid MoI if I have to fillet stuff.....

Hello there, the video is uploading on screencast, I did my best to avoid mistakes, but it wasn't easy :) ... moreover the capturing session is limited to 5 min, and that was short to fillet everything in that time, so I have to speed up.

In the meantime, I've just seen that one g1 fillet is broken, looks like an othe continuity lost like here :

@Apophis

Nice rendering ! and no I don't know what a Münchner Kindl is ... (is it something related to the famous beer party ?)

Hi Lemo, what else are you using then ?
I don't have a lot of experience with nurbs, and most of the time when I have to fight against MoI fillet, I win ...
But for any reason if it's really impossible to find a solution for a precise scenario, I didn't find that other softwares like viacad were that helpfull :S

You're welcome Apophis ;)

Yes Pilou it's Jing, I like the video quality, but you can't control anything about it, like the framerate or the format.
This 5 minutes limitation is also quite annoying, and they are no edition option too :(

Still looking for an cheap solution to make quick videos ...

Resume

My work is done :-)
Step by step with fabulous description.
Two questions stay. First the image below. The edges in the middle ( red arrow ) couldn't be used with fillets. I don't know why, because there are the same edges like in PaQ's Turtorial.
I've a suspicion. My workstation
(Computer Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6420 @ 2.13GHz 2.05 GHz, 2,00 GB RAM with Winxp seems to be overstrained. Is MoI developed for dual core processor? Any activity with bigger meshes work very slow. If I compare my MoI and the application from PaQ there are many differences.

Regards

Michael

Hi Apophis,

First for you performance problem, check this in the options settings :

- Unchecking the 'add detail to inflections' will boost MoI.

I don't think MoI is multithreaded for the moment, so you should have mostly the same speed as in the video (quad 3.0 here).

For the fillet problem, it's a question of sequence to respect :

The edge you're pointing should be filleted before the side surface.
(You can still correct it, I can create an other quick video this evening)

For the offline video, I have to check how I can do that using the screencast service.

Right click and "save target as"... Play with browser on local machine.

http://www.exeink.com/caps/rip/full_pump.swf

Screen cast pumps it out as a "50 MB" file. Trying to re-encode it now to bring the size down.

[EDIT]
Gave up on trying to re-encode it. If you want it locally download the 50 mb file.
It wont be there forever! at least a few weeks.

Some browsers wont play the native flash file. I've attached an html file that will play the flash video. It must be in the same place as the flash file.
[EDIT]
