Creating freeform curve with coordinate list

Hi,

Is it possible to create a freeform curve (through points) by using xyz-list from text file? That would be in certain cases extremely helpful.

I agree it would be a nice feature to be able to import (and export) point data. Useful for us CNC machine people, with some post processing of the data.

If MoI does not plan to have this feature you might try Corel Draw. I have generated 2D drawings from data in an Excel spreadsheet. A simple macro in Excel's Visual Basic converts the 2D points to HPGL plotter language ( .plt format) which Corel Draw can import. Then export your drawing to MoI.

This is possible using a plug-in custom command that Petr wrote, which you can get here:
http://kyticka.webzdarma.cz/3d/moi/#ImportPointFile

That has an option to create either point objects, a polyline, or a a freeform curve with the points loaded in from the file.
