I can't open my version, without, I guess, doing a fresh download-----or is it because a new version of the beta is/will be available--->?????

I had the same thing today. I seem to remember that a previous version of the beta expired in late October...

Hi Brian, Hi Nick - it sounds like you guys are running an older beta release.

The current Sep-21 one does not expire until Dec-21, so if you download that one from here: http://moi3d.com/beta.htm you should be back running again.

Thanks Michael.
Have downloaded and about to install.

Is the next beta update due very shortly?
I don't want to go to the trouble of "Brianising" it with Burrs helps if it is near.

Any current thoughts on when you feel V2 might be completed yet?

I love MoI!

Brian

Hi Brian,

> Is the next beta update due very shortly?

I'm pretty sure I will be able to wrap it up by the end of the week... But of course I thought that last week and the week before that too, several pieces have been taking longer than I had thought.

Hard to say exactly but I'm kind of thinking around the end of February would be a good target for wrapping up development.

Hi Michael,
are you planning on including layer / scene organisation in the next beta?

I second that okapi. I cant see forking over anymore $$ until some kind of scene management comes along.

Hmm..btw...Michael, is there a button/script thing I can do until then that will tide me over until you make it an official feature?

hi Twinsnakes,

this is the way I do it:

Hide
Assign the H shortcut to:
script:moi.geometryDatabase.hide();

Isolate
Assign the I shortcut to:
script:moi.geometryDatabase.invertSelection(); moi.geometryDatabase.hide(true);

(got this tip from the forum)

This way you can either hide selected or unselected objects with one click.
Works quite well up until a moderate amount of objects once you get used to the workflow of toggling and untoggling visibility

Hi okapi,

The full object organization stuff will span across a couple of different betas, I'm expecting to have just one initial element of it ready for the next beta which is an object properties panel for assigning properties like a name or color to an object.

Then I'll be working on the larger "scene browser" type panel for the next beta after that.

It doesn't really fit in something that can be handled easily by a small script.

I am working on the "official feature" parts though.

Little did I realize that the shortcut I was using was set to "C:\Program Files\MoI 2.0 beta Aug-4-2008\MoI.exe".

D'oh!

Yeah Anis, its great news. I look forward to working on bigger projects in Moi as the organizational features start to materialize.

I'm thinking about doing some tutorials as well. I want to do some tutorials that would be suicide to do using a polygonal approach.
