its more of a spaceship with mech legs as i designed it to take off and fly to the battle etc etc. so any mech with legs was the inspiration for the legs and the main body came from well me being bored :)

Cool :)

I would probably attach (parent) the gun to the cockpit body, so you have more freedom when animating the legs and keep the gun more stable.
You'll be also able to the rotate the cockpit and the gun around a vertically axe (heading) and keep the legs walking straight ahead.

That would be more effective on the battlefield ;)

pssst you are thinking too much mate :). yes all good points as you can see from this mech1 sketch the gun is on the parent and not the hips. this one is more about just messing aboot. if you think about it the mechanics are all high in the sky anyway as its supposed to pick up its legs and take off which would be a nightmare lol.
anyhoo this is more about me getting used to moi. while modeling it i have thought of loads of changes so maybe i might put them into opertation later. (once i know i can model them right in moi that is )

thanks for taking the time to reply mate

Sure, I can understand that ... I just like to give advice on everything :P

Maybe just a last comment on the last design, pay attention that the model should stay standing from his rest position.
I have the filling that if you build this baby for real, he will just fall ahead because there are to much weight in the front part.

I know it might sounds stupid, but this little details can help to make a model more 'robust' ... whatever if it's for real or not :)

... I hope I don't sound to snoob, I have to fight with my english too so sometimes it's hard to give an advice without sounding
like I know everything, or something like that :)

EDIT

That's said the weight balance is quite good when looking at the highres image, it was less obvious in the thumb image ... so forget
my last comment :)
