Is Solid Edge just NX without all the large group environment stuff or are they two different packages?

Burr, they're two different packages, NX is direct competion to the likes of Catia and Pro-E which are considered 'High End' and Solid Edge is considered 'Middle Range' along with Solidworks and say Powershape.
They are all built for the same purpose mainly Mech Eng stuff.
