I use RhinoCam V2. The big brother of Visual Mill. VM does not have the full set of modeling capabilities. So Rhino and RhinoCam is pretty feisty combo. Add MoI and making stuff is only limited by the imagination. And the size of the wallet... Vectric also has nice software but all the software including 4th and more axis support are in the $3000 upward region.

Hi Rainer, it will be cool to see the 5th axis added as well!

> PS: Any chance for a cool surface following wrap tool Michael? ;}

Yeah, this should be possible at some point, but I think probably won't fit in for v2 though.

Are you talking about a tool that would take 2D planar curves and then map them to follow a surface? That particular thing is not as difficult as trying to morph a whole solid to flow along a surface, so it will probably be able to happen sooner than solid deformations. But I don't think that it will get squeezed in for v2 though.

Nice! No hurry. But a nice prospect.
If you send me a model I'll mill you a foot tall MOI in Wood.

Hi Rainer,

Wow, that would be cool! Unfortunately I don't happen to actually have a model of that statue guy...

Cheers

Quite amazing that you could do that in one piece, it looks pretty big.

Wow, what a fabulous result!!!

This totally looks like an art show piece. Do you have any plans to make a collection of these for a showing or for sale?

Really great joins too, it is hard to see them without a very close inspection.

That's a really beautiful and rather unexpected form to come out from CNC, I really like it a lot.

I would like to see some screenshots of the camming toolpath and how you did that without a trunion table.

We have a rotatry also and am interested in your technique. We are limited in our software as we can only wrap and index, and I know you said you have RhinoCam, probably with 4th axis capability??

Anyway, Very nice! Anyinfo you could post on the CNC side would be valuable and appreciated for and by me!

Haha

I am so sorry! (not)

It is.... a render... But I made the render and the model.
So I don't feel all to bad. I used Cinema 4D and VRay.

But in any case, this is my desired end result and I WILL route that soon.

Till then, thanks for being such good sports!

Lemo

Hi Lemo, I hope that your final result will hold up to that great image!

It'll be a bit of an April Fool's on yourself if you can't match that now! :)
