Wish list - surface transparency control

Hello Michael,

In the distant future might it be possible to include the ablity to control the transparency of selected surfaces, colour being unimportant?

This would assist when modeling objects that have integrated glass surfaces, such as the example I have attached below.
Here I am working on a security camera model that has a glass dome covering a pivoting security camera, also a lens on the camera itself.

Of course the workaround is to either hide the dome or turn on show hidden lines - neither is entirely satisfactory but both are workable.

Perhaps this could be added to that notebook labeled Version 3?

Ray

Hi,

That would be a nice addition. In Cinema 4D i use the Xray that put transparency to the object or surface. very handy.

Hi Ray, that is something that I would like to add in the future. It is actually listed on the wishlist a few times already (http://moi3d.com/wiki/Wishlist).

I'm not exactly sure on a timeline for it, but yeah probably a v3 thing, I would think it would go along well with a more full rendering material property kind of setup.

Probably the focus in v2 will be more on simple colors to start with.
