hi everyone!

is it possible to get solids into illustrator (via the ai-export) as a volume-outline-curve or something? i mean, when i'm exporting a solid using the built-in ai-exporter, i will actually just end up with a bunch of "generating" curves..

Hi Marco - currently only the edge curves of a solid will be exported to AI format, it does not calculate things like silhouettes.

That is something that I want to add in the future, but it will probably be a while before I can make that happen.

If you need to do that right now, you can import your solids into Rhino and use Rhino's Make2D command to accomplish that.

our graphic designers would like to have some ai-output for visualizations, etc...but there are other ways to generate that. would be a helpful feature for visualization and technical documentation..but not to worry..

Hi Marco - definitely I agree it would be very useful for graphic designers!

Unfortunately it isn't something that is really very easy to add, it will take quite a bit of work for me to add it into MoI in a proper way, that's the only reason why it may take a while.

But I do expect to add it at some point though.
